BJ Bullert
Filmmaker
BJ Bullert is a documentary filmmaker and Professor Emerita at Antioch University Seattle, where she served on the faculty for more than a dozen years. Previously, she taught at American University and Muhlenberg College, and was a Shorenstein Fellow at Harvard University. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Washington and a M.Litt. from Oxford University. As an undergraduate, she studied with historian Howard Zinn at Boston University.
BJ founded Seattle Films Hidden Histories LLC to showcase little-known stories about our region. Recent films include Loki Pete, the third in a trilogy of films featuring small-boat commercial fisherman/anthropologist Pete Knutson, and Space Needle: A Hidden History tracing the inspiration for the Needle's curves. She also made Ken Workman: Three Years, Two Months, and Nine Days, and other films about the Duwamish situation dating back to the 1990s. She lives in Seattle with her husband, Ken Workman. Erik Dugger, Editor
Erik Dugger has edited many documentaries, including Little White Lie, The Growing Season, Screenagers, and Supergirl. He was also the supervising editor of the Peabody Award-winning Don't Tell Anyone.
Erik’s work has screened at numerous film festivals including Slamdance, DOC NYC, and the Hamptons International Film Festival. It has also been featured on the Sundance Channel, the Discovery Channel, National Geographic, A&E Biography, as well as PBS’s Independent Lens and the POV series.
Brad Curran, Camera
Brad is an Emmy-award winning filmmaker, photographer, producer and educator. He shot the key interviews and gorgeous scenes in the film and also used his drone to capture the opening and closing shots in the film.
